MIMOŘÁDNÉ STUDIUM

Mimořádné studium at the University of West Bohemia is a lifelong learning program for the public. It allows interested parties to supplement and expand their qualifications by completing courses and attending classes alongside students.

WHAT IS AN MIMOŘÁDNÉ STUDIUM?

Mimořádné studium is a lifelong learning programme that consists in opening selected courses taught to students of individual faculties of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen to lifelong learning participants.

Mimořádné studium will enable interested members of the public to supplement and expand their qualifications by taking individual courses taught at UWB.

A participant in lifelong learning is not a student under the Higher Education Act.

Mimořádné studium is governed by the Regulations of Lifelong Learning of the UWB, which define that a lifelong learning programme is also a course of study of an accredited study programme.

HOW DOES THE MIMOŘÁDNÉ STUDIUM WORK?

Participants of mimořádné studium can enrol in courses taught at UWB in a particular semester, attend classes, take credits and examinations. Examinations and credits from the enrolled courses must be completed by the end of the academic year during which the participant enrolled in the Mimořádné studium at the latest.

The teaching of the participants in lifelong learning takes place at the same time as the teaching of the students, and the credits and examinations are identical – on the same dates and with the same requirements for both target groups.

Mimořádné studium is intended primarily for those who have completed at least secondary education with a high school diploma. However, the Mimořádné studium is also available to secondary school students who would like to experience the atmosphere and demands of teaching at UWB or who have a specific interest in one of the professional areas taught at UWB. Mimořádné studium can also be used by regular students to a limited extent and under certain conditions (see below).
