Mimořádné studium ZČU

RULES FOR ENROLLMENT IN MIMOŘÁDNÉ STUDIUM

Before submitting an application, applicants interested in lifelong learning should familiarize themselves with all rules and regulations concerning lifelong learning and with the rules governing Mimořádné studium at the University of West Bohemia, in particular with the method of determining fees, the conditions for enrolling in courses, and the method of assessing them.

Before completing the application form, applicants for Mimořádné studium are required to check that the subjects listed in their application are scheduled in such a way that it will be possible to attend their classes.

It is not permitted to register for more than 30 credits per semester.

To register for courses, students must meet the professional entry requirements (have the knowledge required for the course) and language skills enabling active participation in classes in the language in which the course is taught. These requirements are not checked when submitting the application, but only in the first phase of the course.

The course instructor may request cancellation of the enrollment of a participant in Mimořádné studium for the following reasons:

    • organizational reasons,
    • insufficient capacity,
    • failure to meet the entry requirements for course registration,
    • insufficient knowledge of the language of course.
  1.

Participation in courses enrolled in as part of special studies and the manner of their completion are governed by the appropriate application of standard study regulations. Students enrolled in special studies are not eligible for the benefits associated with the status of students with special needs.

Under certain circumstances, the fee may be refunded to the bank account specified in the application. Refunds are governed by the following rules:

    1. Participants may decide to request termination of their studies and a refund of fees within 10 days of the first scheduled class of the given subject. If participants cease to attend classes for any reason after this period, fees will not be refunded.
    2. If an applicant for Mimořádné studium lists subjects in their application whose teaching overlaps in the timetable, the fee paid will not be refunded. However, if the overlap occurs after the application has been submitted as a result of a change in the timetable, the fee for the subject that cannot be attended due to the change in the timetable will be refunded at the participant’s request.
    3. If a course is canceled at the request of the instructor, the fee will be automatically refunded.

CONDITIONS FOR THE JOINT COURSE OF REGULAR STUDY AND MIMOŘÁDNÉ STUDIUM

These additional conditions apply to all applicants for Mimořádné studium who are concurrently enrolled in ongoing regular studies at the University of West Bohemia (including interrupted studies).

These applicants must provide the organizer with a written statement from the vice-dean for studies of the faculty where they are enrolled in regular studies. In the statement, the vice-dean comments on the list of subjects listed on the application for Mimořádné studium.

Only a limited number of subjects (usually one or two) will be allowed to be enrolled in so that completing extraordinary studies does not lead to a disproportionate extension of the duration of studies. If the vice-dean does not approve the enrollment in a particular subject, the relevant portion of the fee paid will be automatically refunded to the applicant. The vice-dean may recognize a subject completed as part of Mimořádné studium as a C subject in regular studies.

Regular students are strongly advised to consult with the vice-dean for studies before submitting their application regarding the subjects they wish to enroll in as part of Mimořádné studium.

No subject may be enrolled in both regular and Mimořádné studium at the same time. If it is found that a student has enrolled in the same course concurrently in both types of studies, their enrollment in Mimořádné studium will be canceled without entitlement to a refund of the fee. Cancellation of enrollment for these reasons may be made at any time during the semester.
