MULTIVARIATE STATISTICAL METHODS

The MSM course is part of the Statistics and Data Analysis microcertificate program, which aims to familiarize students with the basic principles of statistical reasoning and classical and modern methods of statistical data analysis through three sub-courses (PSA, STAV, and MSM). The course can also be taken independently.

AIM OF THE SUBJECT:

In the MSM course, students will focus on multidimensional statistical methods and, using specific examples, will learn about the applicability of advanced statistical methods in processing real data sets. The course will also include examples of data processing in Matlab and Python.

STUDENT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Fundamentals of matrix, differential, and integral calculus, fundamentals of probability and statistics.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

After completing the course, students will be able to:

  • describe the advantages and disadvantages of multivariate methods
  • understand the basic problems in the field of multivariate random variables
  • be familiar with selected methods of multivariate statistical data analysis

  • Exercises (practical activities),
  • Independent work by students,
  • Lecture with student participation.
