Practical insight into insolvency proceedings – from legal foundations, to methods of resolving bankruptcy, to international context.
The course is focused on introducing the new insolvency law, with a focus on comparison with the Bankruptcy and Settlement Act.
The student should have basic knowledge of commercial and civil procedural law.
After completing the course, the student understands the legal and economic nature of insolvency law, and its basic principles. He/she can explain the rules for initiating insolvency proceedings, recognize the conditions of bankruptcy, and describe the individual methods of its resolution (bankruptcy, reorganization, debt relief). He/she is also familiar with the issues of insolvency with an international element, including related procedural law issues.
